Summer Dawn Wrap

Hello there! Recently I was lucky enough to be chosen to do some pattern testing for the fabulous Striped Swallow Designs for the new Summer Dawn Wrap Dress. Let me tell you, this pattern is a must buy!

The Summer Dawn packs so many options: Short or Maxi dress, Short or Elbow sleeves, and there is this AMAZING lace version that you can find on their Blog.

The gathered details on this dress are on point! Have you seen the sleeves?!😍

Below you will see my dress, which includes the short dress and short sleeves. (Please note I did add one inch to my dress as directed due to my height.)

My recommendations:
1. Do not be intimidated by this pattern! When I received it, my immediate thought was "Oh shit! What did I do promising these ladies I could do this?!" But I just read the directions word by word, line by line, and I got myself some beautiful dresses.

2. Get yourself some stabilizer for your button hole. (Remember, DO NOT BE INTIMIDATED!)

So my  big confession is that I have never done a button hole before. Never, not once. So when I saw the button hole in the directions, cue mild panic attack and minor hyperventilating. (LOL)   But it was really no big deal. On the first dress I made I didn't have any stabilizer on hand. I did a test button hole on some scrap and it turned out fine, but I could tell there was some minor pulling from my machine. So for my second dress I picked up some stabilizer. Below you will see the clear difference with the button holes, with and without stabilizer. Clearly, the stabilizer works wonders!
